Qualifying as a Transactional Analyst is a rigorous process and specific criteria must be fulfilled (it is equivalent to an MA qualification). These include:

Completing at least 900 hours of advanced training

Completing at least 750 hours work with clients

Having personal therapy during training - at least 40 hours per year

Having supervision for client work

Completing a mental health placement
-
Abiding by the ethics of the accrediting bodies - UKCP, UKATA and EATA

Passing a 24,000 word dissertation

Passing an oral exam with a panel of four experienced psychotherapists
